Sci-Fi Valley Con (Aftermath, and What's Next)

Okay...let us finish off the Sci-Fi Valley Con review. The initial days were slow, in terms of sales, but then it picked up on the final day, to the point I can actually justify this little trip. But not in terms of just sales...the networking, meetings, etc., made it all worthwhile. Let us see what may be seen:

Snape was spot-on, wouldn't you say? But they were all fabulous.

Wait...could it be...?

The Ouran Host Club.

Very nice.

Boba Fett didn't die.

Long shot of part of the downstairs. Product, baby...

Two in one here: the small sticker to the right is by Brandon Colyer, who ironically stayed at my hotel and I didn't even know it.

The main print is by Invader Gaya. The character is kind of her template, the look, eyes, facial expressions, etc. She ranges from cute to horror-like stuff...the Usher I quite like.

Heh. One of the renderings of Mr. Colyer.

These were most interesting.

A "just wow" moment...this fellow comes up and says, "Hey, didn't you used to work for XM?" My old XM Radio compadre Eddie Fisher was here! We caught up, and he bought "Searching for Roy Buchanan," plus "Live from the Cafe." I love Eddie; so many awesome people I've not seen in too long from down DC way.

Saw these folks around all weekend...not quite sure who they were.

The young lady on the right used hot glue to get her horns to stick to her head, because she didn't have the other stuff. Ouch, but I admire the effort for her art.

Damn.

Well, next year to be sure, I'll be headed back. Altoona is still a depressed area, economically, according to a longtime resident, but people turned out for this. Year #9 should be a good one, and it's cool to see the support for us all.

Hopefully next year, I'll have the sequel to "Searching..." ready to go, and we'll see where we are.

I know I need to get more active on this blog; but it's hard when folks don't really check it out much. In any case, there's a lot I have got to do in the coming weeks and months, if this is ever going to become what I envision it to be.

The big picture, all that.

Anyway, for those in the Harrisburg area, I'll be doing a book launch for "Searching..." on Friday, June 21st at 7 pm at the Vegetable Hunter, 614 N. Second Street. I'll be there to sign and sell, so I'll be bothering you about that!

Peace, Out...back to whatever it is I'm supposed to be doing.
